I would rather crash your market than my bike.
In one month I will head out, fairly unprepared, for my first bicycle tour. 550 miles from La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Lansing, Michigan. I have been biking a lot this spring and summer so far, as well as putting some work into my bicycle, but still, I figure, I am hardly prepared, but the best way to learn is to get your hands dirty and 550 miles isn’t THAT long of a ride. The bicycle I will be riding is a 1977 Schwinn Varsity, I know, that is an insanely heavy bike and hardly the best option, but it was used for touring in the 60’s and 70’s, so why not now. Anyway, I hope to capture some awesome photos and stories, so hopefully there will come of this ride, more than just a sore butt…I am certain it will be incredible.

This is the bike I am planning on using for touring, it is a 1977 Schwinn Varsity. As of now, as you can see, I have one bucket (kitty litter container) pannier and should be getting the second one done soon (as soon as another friends cat poops enough)…suggestions on pants and/or shoes for a good long ride?
I am reblogging this since it is my bike and I would like any suggestions to hook her up for touring :)
I should get paper that doesn’t have lines…ride or die.
